3 Song Analyzation
1) Let the bodies hit the floor
In the song let the bodies hit the floor by drowning pool the singer is singing about death. When the singer sings,
'let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor,'
it's just like in the story when the boys murder Simon. This song also applies to when the boulder throws Piggy through the air and he hits the ground so hard he dies.
2) Bad Moon Rising
In the song Bad Moon Rising by CCR, the singer is singing about how there are bad times coming. When the singer sings,
I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
I see bad times today.
it's just like in the story when Jack goes off to lead his own group and bad thing start happening to Ralph and Piggy. It also applies to when the boys go to confront Jack to get Piggy's glasses back.
3) Lord of the Flies
In the song Lord of the Flies by Elton John, Elton John is singing about Lord of the Flies. When he sings,
And he says how come you two
Are the only ones here who survived
Oh I thought it was me
Who was destined to be
The lord of the flies
he is singing about when the boys first landed on the island and how Ralph determined that he should be the lord of the flies. This song really reflects the mood when they first land and explains how Ralph determined that he wanted to be the leader.
I agree that the song "Bad Moon Rising" is connected to the part of the novel you mentioned. It is when Jack decides to leave and create his own tribe that everything becomes totally out of control. When Jack becomes a leader (of his tribe), really bad things, like Simon's death, start to happen.
