Point of View
The point of view is in third person. The characters feelings and thoughts are expressed in the book which allows the reader to experience the boy’s actions.

Writing style
The book is challenging to read because he uses a wide variety of words. The words he uses in the dialogue express the boys’ identity. The story is also very descriptive. The story was easier to follow in the second half of the story.

Theme
The theme in this novel is darkness of humanity. Because the boys become more and more savage further on in the book. Like in the book when Roger kills piggy with a stone.
