Part2 “The Games” Chapter10- Chapter18



Synopsis
The game starts. They’re half the tributes are killed in the first day of the Games. Katniss relies on her hunting and survival skills to remain unharmed and concealed from the other tributes. Rue is a 12-year-old girl from the District 11 saves Katniss life after few days into the games. Peeta have joined with the tributes from the richer districts. However, when he has the opportunity to kill Katniss, he instead saves her from the others. Rue is killed by another tribute. Katniss then kills the tribute with an arrow. Katniss sings to Rue until she dies, and spreads flowers over her body as a sign of respect for Rue and disgust towards the Capitol. Because of Katniss and Peeta's image in the audience is "star-crossed lovers", a rule change is announced midway through the Games, allowing two tributes from the same district to win the Hunger Games as a couple.
Character introduced
Rue - The female tribute from District 11. Katniss and Rue become allies during the Games. But she has killed by another tribute and Katniss revenge for Rue.
Cato - The male tribute from District 2. He is a career tribute. He has trained for the Hunger Games his entire life.
Point of view
It writes in the 1st person and 3rd person. It makes the novel complete and simple to the reader. Make the story very visual.
Setting
Game starts. They’re on a flat, open stretch of ground. A plain of hard packed dirt, lake and sparse piney woods. Food, containers of water, weapons, medicine, garments, fire starters all the things that will give their life is at Cornucopia.
Notable about the writer’s style
The writers use the simply words to present the novel. And use some strong words to show the mood and feel. This novel is the fiction book.
Statement of themes
Hunting reappears numerous times in the story. Katniss is a hunter when the book starts. But after the games starts. Hunting had different means to Katniss. She killing animals for food, killing a person in a competition is emotionally traumatizing for her.
