Point of View-
This novel is written in the 3rd person omniscient point of view. It adds to the novel because you get to see what is happening with everyone. Also, there is so many characters it would get confusing if it was in a different perspective.
Setting
This novel takes place on an uninhabited tropical island. This adds to the story because if it were in a different biome they would be facing different dangers and have different threats. The fact that it an uninhabited island changes it because the feeling of desertion is more intense and they have less of a chance of being saved.
Notables
The author starts out light hearted and the novel gets darker as it goes along.
The style of writing is serious and realistic
Themes
One of the themes in this novel is the darkness of humanity.
Another theme is the starting of civilization and control
