Introducing myself

Hello!
My name is Laura. I am an exchange student from Germany and I'll stay here in Canada until January. For the novel study I chose the book Life of Pi because Ms. Cunningham mentioned that in the book there is a lot you can analyse since there is a large range of symbolism and metaphors. I want to improve my analysing skills that is why I chose this novel. Right now, I have nearly finished the first quarter of Life of Pi and until now nothing really exciting happened. The protagonist, called Pi Patel, has introduced some flat characters and mentioned background information which is useful for the reader in order to understand the story. I am curious to find out what will happen in future.. although I know that Pi will end up on an island with a few wild animals and he has to figure out how he'll survive and he has to cooperate with the animals because his ship sank so there is no way to get to any other place..
